Sterne School is committed to educating students with learning differences and providing them with the skills and strategies necessary to reach their academic potential. Through a hands-on and individualized program that focuses on academic and social development, Sterne is dedicated to educating its students for the challenges of life.
When students feel comfortable in an environment that recognizes and supports their learning difficulties, they can relax about themselves as perhaps never before. At Sterne, students are respected for their intelligence and supported with frequent and positive feedback. Our school’s small size makes possible one-on-one dialogue between students and teachers on a daily basis so that students know they are valued. Sterne School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is certified by the California State Department of Education.
The Visiting Committee commends the [Sterne] staff for providing a carefully structured curriculum of individualized remediation which allows for the student to capitalize on his or her strengths and compensate for weaknesses and for [the staff's] strong commitment to supporting the academic and social success of each student. - Western Association of Schools and Colleges
