Passages: Post-Secondary Planning
Sterne helps students map out a personalized, goal-oriented growth path for life after high school.
Our Passages: Post-Secondary Program offers students and their families intensive, highly personalized support for college and career exploration, goal setting and achievement.
Facilitated by the College Counselor and College Counselor Liaison, students are guided along the post-secondary planning process. As a required four-year course of study, students meet with the College Counselor to discuss career interests and aptitude, work on resumes and practice interview skills. They also review their Individual Learning Plans, prepare for and take standardized tests, and explore college options.
All 12th grade students participate in a real world application of their learning. Students are matched with apprenticeships, teaching assistantships, volunteer opportunities, and/or concurrent enrollment at a local community college. Students are encouraged to understand and develop their strengths, take personal responsibility, learn critical job skills, and hone their resumes and college applications.
