Who can participate in the program?
Summer @ Sterne is open to all students rising to grades 4–8 for the 2022–2023 academic year. You do not have to be a current or future student to join in the fun!
Can my student participate virtually?
No, Summer @ Sterne 2022 will be in-person only.
I only want to come for specific weeks. Do I have to sign up for the entire summer session?
You can sign up a la carte for specific weeks, and also you may choose morning only, afternoon only, or full days.
Does Summer @ Sterne provide snacks/lunch?
Summer @ Sterne will provide snacks during the AM and PM sessions. If students wish to bring their own snack options, they are welcome to do so. Summer @ Sterne will not provide student lunches.
What should students wear/bring?
Students should wear comfortable clothing and shoes each day. There will be opportunities to play games and be active every day, so make sure wardrobe choices support these activities. Students need to bring their own lunch each day if they are attending both AM and PM sessions.
How does arrival work?
- When students arrive on campus at 838 Kearny St., they will check-in with a Summer @ Sterne staff member and head to the roof for the daily meeting. From there, the fun begins!
- There is a passenger loading zone directly in front of our school entrance that parents can use to drop off their students. Sterne’s outstanding security guard will be there to help direct traffic.
How does dismissal work?
- All students will be dismissed from the entrance to Sterne’s campus at 838 Kearny St. Dismissal is supervised by Summer @ Sterne staff.
- There is a passenger loading zone directly in front of our school entrance that parents can use to pick up their students. Sterne’s outstanding security guard will be there to help direct traffic.
How and when will students be dismissed if they are only participating in the AM session?
Students will be dismissed at lunch time from the school entrance at 838 Kearny Street.
What kinds of “summer camp” activities can we expect?
Lunch and snack time will also involve fun activities designed to get students engaged and playing together. Also, spirit days will be incorporated throughout the program. Lastly, there will be chances to earn fabulous prizes in all of our Summer @ Sterne activities.
What about prescription medication that needs to be given during the day?
- If your student requires medication during the day, you will need to check this in with the program director on the first day that they attend Summer @ Sterne.
- Please pack any necessary medications in a clear, ziploc bag labeled with the student’s first and last name.
- Parents/guardians will need to complete a medication check-in form upon arrival that will indicate how and when the medication will be administered. Logs of administered medication will be maintained by the program director.
