Sterne High School combines a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum with exciting tools and techniques for engaging students in the learning experience.
At Sterne High School, students learn to handle a new measure of independence and the responsibilities that go with it. They experience the balance of academics, experiential learning, arts and extracurricular opportunities that shape the whole student.
Sterne High School is a 1:1 iPad program with Chromebook accessibility. Teachers are trained to utilize the SAMR model to infuse technology into all aspects of learning, including note-taking, research, presentation, executive functioning, reading, and assessment. Students are exposed to a variety of Assistive Technology including Voice Dream Reader, Chromebook AT extensions (readability, text-to-speech, magnification, etc.), Audibles.com, and Bookshare.
Project-based learning and small class sizes create a dynamic, interactive and engaging classroom experience to help build analytical and problem-solving skills. Our low faculty/student ratio means that all students can get as much individualized support as they need to achieve their full potential.
